Engaging middle and high school students in their writing can be difficult. Some shake off writing as though it isn’t worth their time, and others assume they “are bad at it” and won’t give it a shot. Encourage your tweens and teens to enjoy writing with some fun and colorful handwriting paper and prompts!

On this handwriting paper you will find an Adventure Time inspired graphic of a teenage girl. Perhaps your young writer can use their love of Adventure Time to spark a Fan Fiction or spin off story using this paper as inspiration. Or maybe your student would enjoy this paper with a completely different creative prompt like one of these:

See who can write the most words in two minutes! To stay away from too much competitive spirit, tell students they should compete with themselves on the next quick write. Here are a few sentence starter ideas for middle and high school students:

  • She closed her eyes and…
  • It was not until that moment that he…
  • All they noticed were the flashing lights…
